Akwa Ibom First Lady, Patience Eno, Passes Away
The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, has died following an illness, the state government confirmed in a statement issued early Friday morning.
The sad news was shared by the state Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in an official release titled “Unexpected Sunset.”
Pastor Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Governor Umo Eno, passed away on September 26, 2024, at a hospital, surrounded by her family.
The commissioner’s statement read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital on 26th September 2024, in the presence of her family.”
The announcement also conveyed the family’s request for privacy during this challenging period, while expressing gratitude to those who have offered prayers and support. It noted that further details about the burial arrangements would be shared in due time.
In the wake of this tragic loss, Governor Umo Eno expressed his deep appreciation for the outpouring of support and assured the citizens of Akwa Ibom that despite the profound personal grief, his dedication to the state’s development remains steadfast.
The late Pastor Patience Umo Eno is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her passing has left a significant void in the hearts of her loved ones and the people of Akwa Ibom.
