Afrobeats singer, Ahmed Ololade Asake, popularly known as Asake has sold out his show at London’s highly acclaimed O2 Arena for the second time.
The venue is in the centre of The O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London, United Kingdom.
Asake, who is currently on his ‘Lungu Boy World Tour’, performed at the 20,000-capacity auditorium on September 21.
Idris Elba, the British actor, also presented Asake with the sold-out plaque for his new feat and a BRIT silver plaque for ‘Work of Art’, his 2023 album.
The achievement sees Asake join the likes of Wizkid and Davido, who have sold out the O2 Arena more than once.
Last year, Asake also delivered a sold-out performance at the O2 Arena.
The music star made a dramatic entrance via helicopter and thrilled the crowd with his hit tracks including ‘Olorun’, ‘Omo Ope’ and ‘Amapiano’.
Asake’s tour which began in Portimao Portugal on June 20, will end on October 6 in Gold Coast, Australia.
Asake had last year delivered a sold out performance at the O2 Arena.
Asake gained prominence in 2020 after he put out ‘Lady’, his hit song.
He signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022. That same month, he released his debut extended play, Ololade, featuring his breakthrough song ‘Omo Ope’ and Olamide and the single ‘Sungba.’
He has received several awards and recognitions for his talent.
He recently got a Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance’ category for ‘Amapiano’, his hit song with Olamide, the rapper.
In 2023, he clinched the prize for music at the 2023 Future Awards.
