BREAKING: Tribunal Sacks Kano Governor Yusuf, Declares APC’s Gawuna Winner
The Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has ruled to remove Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from office, and subsequently declared Nasiru Gawuna, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the rightful winner of the Kano governorship election held on March 18.
The tribunal nullified Yusuf’s election, citing that he did not secure the majority of lawful votes during the election.
Yusuf, who contested on the platform of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
