The former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has shared his thoughts on the outcome of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal. As reported by ThePressNG, the tribunal recently upheld the election victory of Bola Tinubu, who was declared the President by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In response to this decision, the court dismissed the cases brought before it by Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and Peter Obi (Labour Party) against Tinubu (APC). Buhari, speaking through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, expressed his view that the court’s verdict reflects the will of the Nigerian people.

Buhari stated, “The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has made history by disregarding intimidation and any form of bias to ensure that justice is upheld according to the law, respecting the wishes of the majority of citizens who made their choices.”

“If anybody has won today it is the democracy and the people. With the verdict of the Supreme Court, the election period is over and it is time to put the heat and dust behind us.

“From here, the new APC administration led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should get the support of everyone in order to deliver the promises it made to the people.”

The former President also appreciated Nigerians for maintaining peace and prayed for continued progress and development under the Tinubu-led APC government.

He congratulated the president, vice president Kashim Shettima, and the APC on the victory in court, expressing his best wishes to them in fulfilling the peoples’ aspirations.
