Chief of Defence Staff meets with Islamic leaders, seeks support for peace in Nigeria

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, recently paid a respectful visit to the leaders of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) at their headquarters situated in the Central Mosque, Abuja.

During this visit, General Musa conveyed warm greetings from the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the entire Muslim community. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Islamic leaders for their unwavering prayers on behalf of the Armed Forces and the nation as a whole.

A statement released by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, highlighted General Musa’s acknowledgment of the challenges currently facing the country. Despite these challenges, he assured that Nigeria will continue to progress and improve, emphasizing that “Nigeria will undoubtedly become a safer place.”

General Musa also added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria ( AFN) is highly United and committed to the civil authority. He further assured of the AFN commitment to protect democracy in Nigeria.

The representative of the National President of the NSCIA His Eminence, Sultan Abubakar, Muhammad Saad consoled the CDS on the recent loss of Military personnel in a plane crash at Niger State. Barrister Haroun Eze added that the NSCIA has always prayed for the military in it’s fight against insurgency and terrorism. He also called for a peaceful resolution to the political situation in our neighboring Niger Republic.
