Davido Speaks on the Qualities of Politicians That Can Win Elections in Nigeria
David Adeleke, the well-known Afrobeats artist from Nigeria, also known as Davido, recently expressed his view that in Nigeria, elections are often determined by the tenacity and resilience of the politicians involved.
He shared this perspective on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, September 6, right after the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) delivered its verdict.
In his tweet, Davido wrote: “In Nigeria, elections are won by those who exhibit the most grit and determination.”
However, a curious social media user, @chief_ochuko, inquired about whether Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, secured his victory through sheer determination and ruggedness.
In response to this inquiry, Davido, known for his hit song “Unavailable,” explained that indeed, the Governor of Osun State had the support of individuals with a strong and determined spirit.
His words: “Men mount.”
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has said that the verdict of the PEPT has renewed his goal of unifying and building Nigeria.
Tinubu was quoted to have said this in a statement released by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, hours after the PEPT upheld his election victory on Wednesday, September 6, in Abuja.
