FCT APC leaders accuse Wike of appointing PDP members, demand his removal.

A group of founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent appointments of secretaries made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

Preferring to remain anonymous, these leaders shared their concerns regarding the appointments made by the former governor of Rivers state, viewing them as a significant disservice to the APC as a party. They believed that individuals within the party who had dedicated their time and efforts to support the APC during the 2023 general elections deserved recognition through such appointments.

The APC leaders accused the Minister of granting these appointments to members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the expense of true progressives within the APC. They called upon Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, to address the perceived deprivation and marginalization occurring in the FCT promptly, before it escalates.

In their view, the recently appointed mandate secretaries should be temporarily suspended to create an opportunity for dedicated party members who are better equipped to fulfill these roles.

Furthermore, these leaders warned that if corrective action is not taken by both the president and the party to rectify this perceived injustice against APC members, they would not hesitate to openly express their grievances and discontent with the situation.
