French National Deported After Disrupting Operations at Abuja Airport
The Federal Government has deported a French national who disrupted flight operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The individual, who appeared in a viral video behaving erratically, was seen tearing papers while security personnel tried to calm him down.
He was eventually sedated and transported back to France aboard an Air France flight.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Michael Achimugu, disclosed the development on X (formerly Twitter).
He commended the swift response of airport authorities in containing the situation to prevent further disruptions.
The viral video showed the French man acting irrationally, throwing pieces of paper around and resisting initial attempts by security to restrain him.
His behavior caused a brief disturbance, but normalcy was restored shortly after.
The deportation highlights Nigeria’s commitment to maintaining safety and order within its airports.
Authorities are expected to release additional details as investigations into the incident continue.
