Gov Fubara: Nothing Will Stop Governance in Rivers State
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged unwavering commitment to delivering good governance in the state, assuring citizens that no force—whether individual or group—will halt the progress of his administration.
Speaking during a 2025 New Year State Banquet at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara confidently vowed that his administration would continue to serve the people and not allow detractors to derail the state’s development.
Emphasizing the importance of unity and collective leadership, Fubara highlighted the robust support from political leaders, including former governors Dr. Peter Odili and Sir Celestine Omehia, and other prominent figures in the state. “With the backing of these esteemed leaders, no one can take Rivers State for a ride,” he declared.
The Governor commended the enduring political structure in the state and reassured the people that any efforts to destabilize the government would be met with resolute action.
Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, Fubara expressed gratitude for the support received and pointed to 2024 as a year of more gains than losses. “Though the year had its challenges, we overcame them, and as we head into 2025, we will build on our successes,” he stated.
Looking ahead, the Governor affirmed his administration’s focus on critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. “Education is key to preventing youth crime, and we are committed to reshaping our primary schools.
We are also improving our Fire Service, ensuring it functions effectively,” he explained, stressing that governance in Rivers would remain people-centered and focused on sustainable growth.
In a powerful show of solidarity, Governor Fubara thanked all those who supported his government, underscoring that Rivers State’s future lies in the collective effort of its citizens. “We are not in this alone; together, we will build a state that is resilient, prosperous, and a source of pride for all,” he concluded.
As part of the evening’s festivities, key political figures, including former governors and lawmakers, joined the Governor in cutting the New Year cake, symbolizing unity and commitment to a better future for Rivers State.
Governor Fubara’s address was a firm statement of resolve, signaling to detractors and allies alike that the government’s mission will continue unimpeded, focused on advancing the welfare of the state’s people and achieving long-term success.
