Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Relationship Manager, Friday Awulu Arrested For N14.8m Fraud
One Awulu Friday Ayegba, a relationship manager with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) has been arrested for allegedly withdrawing the sum of N14,850,000.00 from an account of one of the customers of the bank
According to ThePressNG findings, Awulu Friday Ayegba, is a Relationship Manager with the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB). Abuja. This much was discovered through his LinkedIn account.
Ayegba was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, according to the statement released on Thursday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale.
Ayegba, according to the EFCC statement, carried out the fraudulent withdrawals of N14.8million from a customer`s account between June 7- July 21, 2023.
He reportedly impersonated the duo of Henry Olowo and Terseer Shibiam using fake passport photographs, national identification number and phone numbers to open bank accounts with two company names; Sulib Complex & Investments and Seamless & More Global which are not duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC to withdraw the funds.
The anti graft agency also said its intelligence also revealed that Ayegba forged documents belonging to one Nduka Obinna to fraudulently apply for a loan facility to the tune of N40 million while planning to abscond abroad with his family.
EFCC said Ayegba will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
