IGP Egbetokun Decorates Over 100 Officers in Delta, Urges Dedication
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, on Thursday, decorated more than 100 officers in the Delta State Police Command, urging them to remain dedicated and hardworking in their service to the nation.
The ceremony, held at the Delta State Police Headquarters in Asaba, was performed on behalf of the IGP by the State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda.
Prominent among the decorated officers include Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ado Ibrahim, formerly Assistant Commissioner in the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sadiq M. Mana, formerly the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘A’ Division, Ughelli; ACP Maiyaki Joyce Mathew, formerly the DPO of Kwale Division; CSP Obekpa Michael, Admin Officer of the Department of Operations; CSP Omo-Uwuigbe Nosakhare, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad; CSP Mohammed Balarabe Ibrahim, Commander of the Crack Squad.
Addressing the officers, CP Abaniwonda delivered the IGP’s charge: “The reward for hard work is more work. I urge you to put in even greater effort in your duties and ensure you do not disappoint the Inspector General of Police or the public.”
The event underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to recognize and reward outstanding officers while emphasizing accountability and public service.
The decoration of officers in Delta State coincides with increasing public scrutiny of law enforcement practices.
The IGP’s emphasis on diligence and responsibility reflects the broader goal of enhancing public confidence in the police force.
As the decorated officers take on their new roles, they are expected to serve as examples of professionalism and commitment in the fight against crime and the maintenance of public order.
