It’s All Fake: Bobrisky Denies Alleged N15m Bribe to EFCC Officials
Popular controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, fondly called Bobrisky, has firmly denied allegations of bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The controversy began on Tuesday night when popular influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, released an alleged voice recording of Bobrisky.
In the recording, Bobrisky purportedly admitted to paying N15 million to EFCC officials in a bid to have money laundering charges against him dropped. He further claimed that despite his conviction and sentencing to a six-month prison term, he never spent a single day behind bars.
Recall that the crossdresser was sentenced in April 2024 for naira mutilation, but in the leaked audio, he allegedly revealed that his “godfather” intervened, allowing him to serve his sentence in a lodge rather than in a prison cell.
In response to the uproar, Bobrisky dismissed the viral recording as fake, maintaining that he did indeed serve his time in prison and refuting any claims of bribery.
In an Instagram post, he wrote: “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never in prison.
“I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information.”
