Perpetrators of Benue Attack Will Pay Dearly, Gov Alia Vows
Kehinde Fajobi
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has promised to bring the perpetrators of the recent attack on the Anwase community in Kwande Local Government Area to justice.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Alia condemned the unprovoked assault that claimed the lives of many innocent residents, describing it as “heinous.”
“Such heinous acts have continued in the state despite the efforts of my administration to ensure the safety of our people,” the governor said.
He vowed that those behind the attack would not escape justice.
“I can assure you, the perpetrators of this act will pay dearly for it.
“They may think they are not known, but they cannot be allowed to continue perpetrating this. It’s a matter of time,” he stated.
Governor Alia reaffirmed his commitment to using lawful means to protect Benue citizens and called on security agencies to enhance their surveillance and safeguard vulnerable communities.
He extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and expressed sympathy for the injured.
“My thoughts of comfort and prayers are with them during this difficult time,” Alia added.
