Protesters Defy Curfew in Kano
Despite a 24-hour curfew imposed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, protesters regrouped in Tudun Wada of Nassarawa Local Government Area in Kano State.
The governor had allowed a five-hour relaxation of the curfew to enable Muslim faithful to observe Jumaat prayers.
However, as soon as the relaxation period began, scores of youths assembled on the bridge separating Tudun Murtala and Tudun Wada wards, resuming their protest against the prevailing economic hardship in the country.
Many protesters were seen carrying placards, while others chanted and clapped as they marched.
According to reports, a young man addressed the crowd before they began their demonstration.
The ongoing protests reflect widespread dissatisfaction over economic conditions, despite official measures to maintain order and address grievances.
