Soludo Signs Anambra’s ₦607bn 2025 Budget, Promises Rapid Progress

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has officially enacted the 2025 state budget, which amounts to ₦606.99 billion.
Named “Changing Gears 2.0,” the financial plan is designed to bolster development in vital areas of the state.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement from the governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, following a signing ceremony held at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
Governor Soludo outlined the budget’s focus on education, healthcare, public safety, and infrastructure. He affirmed his administration’s determination to enhance the lives of Anambra residents.
He said, “The budget lays emphasis on execution and acceleration. It represents our dedication to investing in schools, supporting healthcare systems, and constructing essential infrastructure, including roads and bridges, to enhance the economic well-being of our people.”
Soludo praised the state legislature for its support in approving the financial plan. He described their collaboration as crucial for addressing pressing state needs.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the full implementation of the budget.
The governor encouraged ministries, departments, and agencies to promptly initiate projects and programmes aligned with the budget’s priorities to ensure its objectives are met.
He also acknowledged Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze and other lawmakers for their partnership in finalising the budget.
“Collaboration across all sectors is key to achieving the goals we’ve set,” Soludo noted.
Prominent attendees at the event included Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, members of the State Executive Council, and civil society groups.
Chiamaka Nnake, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, highlighted the financial plan as a roadmap for advancing the state’s growth and achieving sustainable progress.
