Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.
He called on leaders to ensure public funds are managed responsibly.
Delivering Adeboye’s message at the Hallelujah Mega Praise, Season 3, held in Shimawa, Ogun State, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, RCCG’s National Overseer Emeritus, described the nation’s difficulties as largely self-inflicted.
He emphasised that genuine leadership rooted in honesty could resolve the country’s pressing issues.
“If corruption and bribery are eliminated, and our leaders sincerely commit to governance, there will be no obstacles,”
Adeboye said. “With Nigeria’s vast human and mineral resources, what we need is determination, honesty, faithfulness, and integrity to bring about change.”
Referring to recent stampedes over food relief, Adeboye urged politicians to prioritise integrity and fairness, warning that corruption only worsens the suffering of ordinary citizens.
Pastor Felix Ikumapayi, the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Province 4, encouraged Nigerians to find solace in faith and gratitude during difficult times.
He highlighted the transformative power of worship, saying it could unlock divine solutions to problems.
“In the midst of hardship, praising God shifts our focus away from challenges and opens doors for divine intervention,” Ikumapayi explained. “Through God, we can be connected to those capable of addressing our needs.”
Both leaders called on the government to implement reforms that enhance accountability and governance, urging them to take decisive steps to rebuild trust and hope among Nigerians.
