Tinubu Orders Suspension of #EndBadGovernance Protest
In a decisive move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated the immediate suspension of the #EndBadGovernance protests that have been spreading across the country.
The directive was issued during a live broadcast on Sunday morning, following widespread demonstrations by Nigerian youths, which have drawn significant national attention.
During his address, President Tinubu stressed the importance of dialogue over violence and the preservation of public order.
He stated, “As President of this country, I must ensure public order. In line with my constitutional oath to protect the lives and property of every citizen, our government will not stand idly by and allow a few with a clear political agenda to tear this nation apart.”
The President called on protesters and organizers to suspend further demonstrations and engage in dialogue.
“Nigeria requires all hands on deck and needs us all—regardless of age, party, tribe, religion or other divides—to work together in reshaping our destiny as a nation,” he said. He also issued a stern warning to those exploiting the protests for political gain, emphasizing that they would face legal consequences.
Addressing the youth directly, Tinubu acknowledged their frustrations and reassured them of the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns.
“I understand the pain and frustration that drive these protests, and I want to assure you that our government is committed to listening and addressing the concerns of our citizens,” he affirmed.
The President highlighted the progress his administration has made in stabilizing the economy and improving infrastructure. He urged the public to recognize the efforts being made under the
“Renewed Hope” initiative, aimed at bringing tangible improvements for all Nigerians.
“Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation,” Tinubu concluded.
