Wike too powerful for PDP, Fayose warns: Sack him at your own peril
Ayodele Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, recently expressed a strong caution to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding the possible expulsion of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from the party. This warning came during Fayose’s appearance on Channels Television’s Hard Copy program.
Fayose emphasized that Wike wields significant influence and power within the party, making him a crucial figure for the PDP. Fayose further added, “If the day comes when I am no longer a part of the PDP, I will not align myself with any other political party. Joining the APC is also out of the question for me, regardless of their merits or flaws.”
“Some people say fight Wike, expel Wike, sack Wike. I think they do that at their own peril. You see, the first thing in your family, even when you have extreme situations or indifferences, is not to drive away your wife or husband.
“Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond PDP, a force you cannot ignore, ignore Wike, sack Wike, or fight Wike at your own peril. He is a man of capacity.”
There have been calls for the PDP to expel Wike from the party following his decision to support President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the last presidential election.
Recently, the new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, had declared that nobody can expel him from the former ruling party.
